Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Join our esteemed team as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in Virology, where you will play a pivotal role in disease detection, diagnosis, and treatment. As a CLS, you will be instrumental in upholding the highest standards of healthcare by performing critical laboratory tests, ensuring accuracy in results, and contributing to groundbreaking research initiatives. Key responsibilities:

Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests, including specimen processing, analysis, and interpretation.

Prepare reagents, perform quality control and calibration for test systems to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Maintain and repair laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and adherence to safety standards.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care and support research initiatives.

Utilize advanced instrumentation and technology, including Roche cobas 4800/6800/8800, Roche cobas Liat, GenMark ePlex, Thermo Fisher Scientific Applied Biosystems 7500 Fast Dx Real-Time PCR System, DiaSorin Liaison MDX, Biomerieux NucliSens easyMag and others, to drive innovation in Virology.

Salary Range: $51.76 - $68.97/hour


Job Qualifications

A current, valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS) 
Bachelor’s degree
At least two years of technical and practical experience in Virology and/or Microbiology, preferred.
Proficiency in operating PCR instruments (e.g. Roche cobas 4800/6800/8800, GenMark ePlex, DiaSorin Liaison MDX), centrifuges, water baths, BSC, and other laboratory equipment, preferred.
