Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As a Professional Auditor and Trainer, you will help further our mission by providing all UCLA Health workforce members with high-quality education and resources. Primary duties include:

Auditing and Monitoring:

Independently complete assignments, manage risk-based audits and projects, perform regulatory research, investigations, participate in the claims review process.

Perform Quality Assurance reviews.

Raise instances requiring corrective action to department leadership.

Training and Education:

Research complex billing, coding and regulatory topics; develop and update existing training materials.

Organize and design training events.

Conduct presentations and trainings/educational sessions independently. 

Investigations:

Collect and analyze documentation, participate in interviews and maintaining relevant work papers.

Record all findings, results, and data related to investigations in department GRC database and share information as appropriate.

Draft, present as requested, the investigation report.

The full annual salary range for this position is $105,200.00 - $250,600.00. Please note – the department’s target pay range is $105,200.00 - $144,000.00.


Job Qualifications

Along with the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification, we are seeking individuals with:

Expertise in healthcare coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), with knowledge of professional billing, coding and documentation practices in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Working knowledge of end-to-end revenue cycle components.

Solid understanding of federal, state and local billing, coding, and documentation laws and regulations.

Demonstrated knowledge of the essential elements of an effective compliance program.

Excellent public speaking/presentation skills.
