Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The HIMS PRAIII works collaboratively to ensure that data received, indexed, produced and maintained in the medical record is accurate and secure. The PRAIII performs assessments, analysis and auditing processes and shares outcomes with teams, leadership and clinical areas across the health system as required. 

Salary range: $34.53 - $45.55 hourly. 

Job Qualifications

1. Previous HIMS experience preferred.  Previous HIMS experience in an electronic environment, with emphasis on document scanning, preferred. 

2. Ability to meticulously follow detailed direction and manage multiple priorities.

3. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

4. Excellent keyboard/data entry skills required (typing 50 wpm and 10-key by touch).

5. Excellent attention to detail required for prolonged stretches of time. 

6. Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.

7. Ability to work as a flexible team player in support of large projects.

8. Ability to work independently and to resolve routine issues without supervisory support required.  Maintain accountability for work performance.

9. Willingness to perform other duties as assigned required.  

10. Willingness to participate in technological innovation as it occurs.

11. Excellent oral and communication skills with physicians, hospital staff and coworkers.

12. Excellent research/problem solving ability.

13. Knowledge of UCLA computer systems preferred.

14. Working knowledge of principles of performance/quality improvement preferred.

15. High school diploma or GED certificate required. AA degree preferred.
