Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Assistant Academic Personnel Coordinator is responsible for the analysis and administration of a variety of academic personnel, payroll, and human resources issues of moderate scope and complexity. You will support the review and analysis of all academic appointment and advancement review files inclusive of merits, promotions, appraisals, and 5-year reviews. Emphasis is placed on working withe Academic Personnel team to meet deadlines and complete projects. Duties also include but are not limited to the academic review process, dossier management, liaising with the Dean’s Office, Academic Personnel Offices, and other internal and external campus agencies, updating the departmental database and assisting with updating the HR payroll systems and trackers. 

Salary Range: $26.10 - $49.38/hr

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Skill in planning and organizing complex materials and information efficiently, skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload, changes in assignments, pressures of deadlines, competitive requirements and heavy workload.
  • Ability to utilize appropriate interpersonal skills to interact effectively with faculty, residents, students, campus and hospital departments and outside agencies. 
  • Financial skills necessary to compile statistics, manage budgets, process reimbursements etc.
  • Demonstrated writing skills to compose logical, detailed, comprehensive, and grammatically correct correspondence, procedures, and reports.
  • Ability to work effectively and accurately with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of University academic personnel policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of various governmental agencies involved in faculty and fellow appointments 
  • Demonstrated skill in analyzing academic curriculum vitaes and bibliographies to evaluate physician/scientist level of achievement and to determine whether it is commensurate with level of proposal.
  • Ability to read and interpret personnel, payroll, and academic personnel manuals including the CALL
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and by exercising good judgment.
