Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Join our dynamic team at UCLA as an Operations Manager! Under the direction of the Materials Management leadership, you'll be responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, managing staff, and ensuring optimal efficiency and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee daily operations at UCLA warehouses (MOC and UCDC), including inventory management, shipping, receiving, picking/packing, and transportation of supplies to UCLA locations
  • Review operations, recommend process improvements, and develop operating strategies, plans, or procedures
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant work environment and maintain standards in line with JACHO, FDA, DH, OSHA, and other local/national requirements
  • Supervise staff, create work schedules and assignments, and conduct performance reviews
  • Assist in the hiring process of new staff members, train, and counsel team
  • Act as a liaison between internal/external customers and vendors
  • May deliver supplies to health system facilities utilizing university vehicles
  • Support projects as needed


Salary Range: $83,800-179,400 Annually

Position requires to be on-call and available during off hours.

Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate is an exceptionally detail-oriented, positive individual who is able to manage multiple aspects of warehouse operations.

Requirements:

    • 5 years of materials/warehouse management experience.
    • Current CA Driver’s License in good standing (subject to DMV Pull).
    • Ability to operate warehouse equipment.
    • Proficient use of Lawson Supply Chain Management systems, Warehouse Management System, Microsoft, and Outlook.
    • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to give clear instructions, delegate tasks, and provide feedback and coaching.
    • Strong analytic, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills with a strong customer service emphasis.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of implementation and management of materials management information systems.
    • Skilled in the orientation and skill development of new staff members. 
    • Skilled to oversee the orientation, competency performance and on going technical education of staff in all areas.
    • Ability to attends all in-services, workshops, classes, drill, etc as requested.  
    • Ability to adhere to Materials Management and UCLA Healthcare policies and procedures.
    • Actively participate in Quality Management and PIE programs.
    • Skilled in working independently and following thru on assignments with minimal direction.
    • Skilled in setting priorities that accurately reflect importance of job responsibilities
    • Skilled in performing with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
    • Able to adapt to changes in the workload.
