Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Santa Monica Hospital is seeking to hire a Per Diem Dietitian to join the Department of Nutrition. You will provide medical nutrition therapy to patients in specialized areas such as cardiology, med/surgery, GI, renal, organ transplant, liver disease, neurology, head/neck, oncology, and critical care. You will also work at Ronald Reagan in Westwood as needed but will be mostly stationed in Santa Monica. Responsibilities include:

  • Assessment, documentation, implementation, monitoring and reassessment of patients' nutrition care plan. 
  • Conduct nutritional assessment, diet calculation, and the provision of medical nutrition therapy
  • Conduct patient education, malnutrition/NFPE. 
  • Provide ongoing education to patient and/or family members
  • Chart in EPIC and use Computation
Please note this is a per diem position.

Salary range: $45.98/hr - $53.63/hr

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Certification as Registered Dietitian by the Commission of Dietetic Registration.
  • At least one year of experience as a Registered Dietitian.
  • Excellent computer and customer service skills.
  • Strong knowledge in malnutrition diagnosing and NFPE
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays. 
  • Ability to travel within Health System, including Santa Monica and Westwood. 

 

Preferred:

  • Experience working in an academic setting.
