Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Director of Santa Monica Security Services at the UCLA Hospital System, you will serve as the Assistant Operations Manager with overall department administrative issues including strategic planning, goal setting, program development and implementation and budget administration.  Serve as the Operations Manager for the SM UCLA Medical Center when the Operations Manager is unavailable.


Assignments are given in terms of broad goals and objectives. Goal attainment is reviewed with the Director of Security Services on a continuous basis through formal and informal discussions and status reports. You will be expected to demonstrate initiative and resourceful problem solving abilities to achieve goals.  Much of the work related to program operations planning and oversight is conducted within a structure that encourages independence.


Salary Range: $63,800 - $127,000 / annually

Job Qualifications

  • Prior healthcare security supervisory experience of 5 years or more. 
  • Must possess and maintain current certification in a California Guard Card and D.O.J. Chemical Agent.
  • Must have BLS Certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license.
  • Experience developing policies and procedures.
  • Experience evaluating and training security officers.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies i.e. JCAHO, CDPH, CMS.
  • Security investigative experience
