Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Provides clerical and administrative services to maintain a line of communication between patients/visitors and clinical staff. Coordinates communications via telephone, radio systems and intercom. Prepares and monitors a variety of paperwork including admissions, medical records, etc. Responsible for activating codes and maintaining activation logs including notations, dispositions, etc. Provides ancillary patient services including patient positive culture processing, arranging ambulance transportation, orienting of patients to the clinic system etc. Works in centralized nursing station, must be comfortable in a fast-paced clinical environment with potential exposure to challenging situations and patient encounters.
 
Salary range: $37.10 - $37.10 Hourly

Job Qualifications

Education and experience equivalent to high school graduation and 2 years strong public relations experience in a medical environment. Demonstrated skills in working with frequent interruptions and distractions, as well as performing multiple tasks simultaneously without loss of efficiency. Ability to work with fluctuating workloads, rotating staff and independently problem solve as needed. Excellent oral communication skills to obtain and convey information accurately using diplomacy. Knowledge of advanced medical terminology required. Past experience working in emergency department environment strongly preferred.
