Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The GI Tech is responsible for the complex and critical job of endoscope and equipment decontamination / reprocessing. GI Tech is responsible for testing, arranging repair, and documentation of endoscope processing/repair. The GI Tech is responsible for ensuring that each scope is reprocessed in a timely manner and according to the manufacturer’s IFU. In addition, the GI Tech is responsible for quality control and maintenance of the scope room, scoop room equipment, and scope room supplies.  

The GI Tech are also responsible for transporting scopes and supplies from the scope room to the procedure rooms/suites and from the procedure room/suites to the scope room. The GI Tech is responsible for transporting scopes to the scope room in a timely manner to ensure that each scope is reprocessed according to the policy and manufacturer’s recommendation. Other duties include but are not limited to room and bed turnovers as well as customer service and departmental efficiencies. The GI Tech will perform the duties and tasks for both the Santa Monica Hospital GI/MPU and the Outpatient GI suite. The shift may be variable to meet departmental needs.

Salary Range: $27.79 - $33.87 hourly

Job Qualifications

·        BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

·        High School Diploma

·        One year of experience
