Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a part-time Therapist to join the Cousins Center for Psychoneuroimmunology. The Center investigates the interactions between the brain and the body and the importance of psychological well-being for both health and recovery from illness. You will support our study on sleep disruption, depression symptoms, and suicide risk. Primary duties include:
  • Assessing eligibility for participation in therapy groups
  • Conducting group based interventions to patients
  • Working with interdisciplinary team to devise and implement group/individual therapy sessions and treatment plans
  • Administering interviews and rating scales
  • Providing treatment plan to pediatric patients
  • Complete required paperwork for assessments and treatment sessions 
Please note, this is a limited position that may convert to career.

Salary range: $34.24/hr - $74.19/hr

Job Qualifications

Advanced degree in mental health related field (MSW, MFT, PhD, PsyD)
Valid CA License in a behavioral health discipline
Knowledge of relevant psychological, medical, and psychiatric terminology
Knowledge of administering rating scales and other study related tools
Skill in interacting with person of various social and educational backgrounds and age levels
Ability to learn and consistently follow program protocols and procedures and monitory quality assurance with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Skill in working with large research team
Skill in working with word processing, excel spreadsheets, and data management programs
