Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Public Mental Health Partnership (PMHP) is seeking to hire a full time Project Policy Analyst 2 to complete the duties of Evaluation Support Analyst to support PMHP projects, including an evaluation of the Interim Housing Outreach Program (IHOP) run by the Los Angeles County Departments of Mental Health and Health Services. Coordination and support activities will include involvement in activities such as supporting with evaluation, helping co-facilitate focus groups, supporting identification of measures, synthesizing information to help develop tools, and site observation (periodically). To perform these activities, they will coordinate with PMHP staff and homeless service professionals and clinicians. The ideal candidate would preferably have a background in the homeless service sector, evaluation and assessment, and/or program implementation. To a lesser extent, you will train staff on the use of measures, provide feedback to improve program implementation/performance, and monitor fidelity to program models. You will also assist in the ongoing development of training materials, program evaluation tools, and web-based resources.

 

Main responsibilities of the role are:

 

A. Training and Consultation

  • Support evaluation projects, including the Interim Housing Outreach Program (IHOP) run by the Los Angeles County Departments of Mental Health and Health Services 
  • Co-facilitate focus groups
  • Support identification of measures
  • Synthesize information to help develop tools
  • Periodically visit and observe Los Angeles County service sites to track program operations under the supervision of the Research Scientist and leadership team
  • Coordinate with PMHP staff and stakeholders, including homeless service professionals staffing interim housing (IH) sites served by IHOP and IHOP clinicians 
  • Train staff on the use of measures
  • Provide feedback to improve program implementation/performance 
  • Monitor fidelity to programs’ model
  • Coordinate communication and planning related to evaluation activities involving PMHP and other partners 
  • Utilize tracking mechanisms to provide regular reports to partner organizations about training attendance, utilization of weekly consultation mechanisms, and improvements in quality of care

B. Intervention and Training Materials Development

  • Assist in the ongoing development of training materials, program evaluation tools, and web-based resources
  • Develop training materials, including slides, manuals, protocols, and handouts in coordination with PMHP leadership and analysis teams
  • Support the adaptation of the IHOP learning channel on the Learning Management System (LMS) for project specific needs, including through the development of training videos and the identification of relevant peer-reviewed research articles, popular media, and other training materials
  • Initiate and perform other duties as assigned
Pay Range: $28.30 - $54.74 hourly

Job Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, demonstrating professionalism
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minor direction
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to clinics and agency sites
  • Ability to communicate complex information to people with varying levels of education and training and different learning styles
  • Demonstrated command of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and/or other major collaboration platforms and applications
  • Skill in keeping accurate records with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop rapport and work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct resourceful problem solving
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree or engagement in a mental health related field (i.e., psychology, social work, public health)
