Under the direct supervision of the Manager and Medical Director, serve as Dietitian II in the Weight Management (RFO) clinic. Main duty is to provide dietary assessments and counsel to participants according to protocol. These duties and skills will be provided to the Department of Medicine, Division of Clinical Nutrition, Risk Factor Obesity Program. Develop, plan and provide nutrition education and counseling services. Plan, organize, coordinate and implement group nutrition intervention activities for the dietary intervention of Internal Medicine and Internal Medicine Subspecialties patients. Required:
- Current RD License
- Bachelors in Science (preferred in Nutrition and Dietetics)
- Ability to provide dietary counseling according to protocol
- Working knowledge of good clinical practices.
- Ability to work efficiently and complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to organize multiple projects for efficiency.
- Analytical skills sufficient to work and solve problems with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate research deadlines.
- Ability to concentrate and focus in a work environment that contains distracting stimuli and competing deadlines.
- Ability to be flexible and prioritize constantly shifting workload.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively and diplomatically interact with others.
- Strong written communication skills to compose correspondence.
- Computer skills/ability including work processing, use of spreadsheets, e-mail and data entry into clinical trails and Network database (MAC, PC, WORD, EXCEL).
- Sufficient computer and computer networking knowledge sufficient to problem solve common hardware and software problems.
- Ability to handle confidential material with judgement and discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a Team Player.
- Knowledge of chart, graph and table formatting and ability to enter and manipulate the data on a personal computer.
- Skill in scheduling appointments, answering inquiries by phone and mail correspondence.
- Problem solving skills sufficient to establish priorities, predict problem areas, and develop new and improved systems for problem resolution relating to all areas of the journal office.
- Demonstrated project management skills in changing from one task to another quickly in order to complete scheduled projects in a timely an efficient manner.
- Knowledge of medical and scientific terminology.
- Ability to monitor business functions and needs as they arise.
- Ability to work independently and exercise initiative with only minimal direction in a one-person office and to establish and meet deadlines
