Primary Duties and Responsibilities

If you have a passion for driving innovative and impactful marketing strategies as part of an industry-leading health care marketing team, join us as our Director of Strategic Marketing.

As a key member of our Marketing leadership team, you’ll lead the development and implementation of innovative marketing strategies and programs for our priority service lines, including adult and pediatric inpatient and outpatient care across five hospitals and 280 clinics throughout the Greater Los Angeles and beyond. You’ll align strategic marketing activities with a focus on achieving UCLA Health’s strategic brand, growth and customer experience priorities while positioning the organization as a world-renowned academic health system. This will involve facilitating strategic planning, tactical implementation, relationship development, team leadership, strategic advocacy and performance optimization.

Critical to your success will be your ability to grow and lead an exceptional strategic program management team and build strong relationships with key leaders and stakeholders throughout UCLA Health. This includes leadership and staff in Market Intelligence & Insights, Channel Strategy, Data & Analytics, Digital Customer Experience, Marketing Operations, Brand Strategy & Creative, Strategic Partnerships, Communications, clinical and operational leadership, and departments and divisions across the health system. The impact you make will be felt regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Salary Range: $102,500 to $227,700 Annually

Job Qualifications

We’re seeking a proven marketing leader with in-depth knowledge of the full scope of strategic marketing, including regional and national service line brand marketing, customer acquisition, lifecycle nurturing, executive and physician reputation marketing, stakeholder engagement and executive communication. You will need:

  • At least 10 years of high-level strategic marketing experience
  • At least 5 years of team leadership experience
  • Health delivery industry experience required
  • Advanced knowledge of concepts, principles, and methods of developing and executing marketing strategies
  • Advanced ability to translate short-and long-range business plans into impactful strategic marketing strategies and programs
  • Advanced ability to communicate marketing strategies to internal subject matter experts to aid them in plan and program execution
  • Advanced leadership and management capabilities, including goal-setting, performance coaching, team leadership, and collaboration with colleagues and staff at all levels
  • Ability to turn business objectives into strategic marketing plans that drive measurable outcomes
