As a Licensed Psychiatric Technician, you will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to patients with behavioral support and assess the need for additional resources. Your role includes implementing and evaluating care plans, performing assigned tasks, and collaborating with the nursing and multidisciplinary teams to support patient well-being.

This position floats to various units within the UCLA Health system based on the patient census and the skills of the Psychiatric Technician.

Salary range: $39.40-$39.40 Hourly

Job Qualifications

We’re seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated professional with:

  • At least 6 months of clinical experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting or equivalent required
  • California Psychiatric Technician Licensure required
  • BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
  • Demonstrated ability to provide individual and group activities to psychiatric patients on an acute psychiatric inpatient 
  • Knowledge of psychological functioning and deviations from normal
  • Knowledge of growth and development throughout the life span
  • Knowledge of techniques of therapeutic communication
  • Knowledge of Drug administration
  • Knowledge of management of assaultive behavior
  • Knowledge of Evacuation, fire and disaster procedures
  • Knowledge of HIPAA
