Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In this exciting and rewarding position, you will provide evidence-based inpatient medical, surgical, telemetry, and stepdown level of care to patients admitted to the hospital from the Emergency Department (ED). You will care for the admitted patients in the dynamic, fast-paced, high-patient turnover environment of the Emergency Department all while advancing the inpatient plan of care in coordination with the admitting team, case management and ED Charge Nurse. The Emergency Care Unit (ECU) overflow nurse will also assess patient, family and staff learning needs, deliver appropriate clinical education and promote effective working relationships. This involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of dedicated professionals to develop and implement a care plan, including providing detailed care instructions. Join our team today!

Job Qualifications

 

We’re seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated nursing professional with:

  • Current valid California RN license, required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN or MSN degree, required.\
  • Official Transcripts and/or original diploma from a registered nursing program must be provided upon hire.
  • Current BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
  • One year of direct patient care in a telemetry or med-surg/telemetry setting required.
  • Ability to manage multiple patients in an Overflow Unit with rapid patient turnover.
  • Clinical skills applicable to medical, surgical, telemetry, neuro and geriatric nursing.
  • Skill in implementing appropriate nursing interventions on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to perform historical, physical and behavioral patient assessments.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plan actively involving patients, family, and staff.
  • English-speaking proficiency.
