Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Step into a vital role at the Brentwood Annex, where your expertise will support essential diagnostic services across Bacteriology, Mycobacteriology, Mycology, and Parasitology. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for performing a range of technical procedures, including urine and blood cultures, gram stains, fungal stains, and BD Max PCR testing. You will also play a key role in troubleshooting laboratory instruments and preparing reagents to ensure accuracy and efficiency in test results.

Salary Range: $53.31/hour - $71.04/hour

In addition to a competitive salary range, this position is also eligible for shift differentials.


Job Qualifications

Current, California Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Microbiology Scientist license.

Bachelor’s degree.

Demonstrated working knowledge of current instrumentation, including BD Bactec FX, bioMerieux Vitek 2 and MS systems, centrifuges, water baths, analytical balance, fume hood, biological safety cabinet, and incubator.

Strong educational background and advanced training in Microbiology – preferred.

Previous technical and practical experience in Bacteriology, Mycology, Mycobacteriology, and/or Parasitology – preferred.

Proficient computer skills.

Must pass the Ishihara Color Vision exam, i.e. visual acuity including color differentiation.
