Primary Duties and Responsibilities

At UCLA West Valley Medical Center, we believe that excellence in patient care starts with a safe and well maintained environment. We are currently seeking a Facilities Mechanic to support the daily operations of our facilities and contribute to our mission of delivering top-tier care.

In this role, you will perform routine and semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance, alteration, and repair of buildings and facility equipment. Under general supervision, you may work independently, as part of a maintenance team, or under the guidance of a journey level crafts worker.

Salary Rate: $36.03 Hourly

Job Qualifications

Required:
  • Basic knowledge and work experience with materials, equipment and tools as it pertains to plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems and/or carpentry work.
  • Knowledge and experience with MS Office, MS Word and MS Outlook.
  • Skill in communicating and obtaining clear and concise information.
  • Skill in reading and writing standard English in order to understand written directions and convey concise and grammatically correct information.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required and under adverse situations.
  • Knowledge of applicable State and local codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission standards.

Preferred:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a hospital setting
