Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Join our dynamic ophthalmology team! We’re seeking a friendly and organized Administrative Assistant to support our Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus clinic in Westwood. This role is essential in providing excellent patient service and ensuring smooth daily operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Check-in/out patients
  • Insurance verification
  • Process co-payments
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Respond or route patient messages

Salary Range: $25.60-36.33 Hourly

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • One year experience working in a medical office including answering telephones, interacting with patients and familiarity with current billing practices including governmental plans
  • One year of experience scheduling patient appointments in computerized appointment scheduling system
  • Excellent interpersonal skills which promote pleasant and effective communications with patients, staff and doctors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible personality and ability to adapt to changing needs of department
  • Ability to interact calmly and effectively with patients with difficult personalities 

Preferred:

  • Experience registering patients in UCLA Encounter Registration system
  • Experience working in a teaching environment
  • Experience working in an Ophthalmology practice
