Primary Duties and Responsibilities

This senior-level role at the Simms Mann Center provides leadership in supervising clinical social workers and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of department activities. Key responsibilities include managing time effectively, promoting staff accountability, and overseeing reporting processes.

The Supervisor plays a pivotal role in leading crisis interventions and providing immediate consultation for complex clinical cases, working closely with the Clinical Director. They will be a resource for social work clinicians, offering consultation as needed, and will lead or co-lead clinical consultation groups as appropriate.

This position also involves delivering direct clinical care to patients with complex needs from various community clinics. Additionally, the Supervisor will take a leading role in onboarding and training new clinical social workers, fostering their professional development and integration into the team.

This role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and a commitment to supporting both staff and patients at the Simms Mann UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology.


Annual Salary Range: $92,600.00 - 202,200.00 

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California
  • Master's degree in Social Work
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise a team and manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with social work services
  • Strong knowledge of social work services, and familiarity with evidenced based practices, case management, utilization review, discharge planning, home care, and / or managed care
  • Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources matters and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters
  •  Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaborations with all levels of management and staff across clinical disciplines
  • Knowledge of applicable business software and specialized applications and data management systems
