As the IV Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for the preparation, distribution, and control of sterile injectable medications in an ambulatory setting. Key responsibilities include both chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy sterile compounding, maintaining accurate and timely records (e.g., refrigerator temperature logs, hood cleaning), medication distribution, and inventory management. All duties are performed independently under the supervision of a Pharmacist.

Schedule: Monday - Sunday 7:00am – 7:00pm; varied shifts, depending on department needs, including weekends and holidays. This role will require you to float and travel to multiple locations.
Hourly Salary Rate: $35.20 (Pharmacy Technician I Per Diem) or $41.87 (Pharmacy Technician II Per Diem)
- Pharmacy Technician I Per Diem (9279): Less than 2 years of experience
- Pharmacy Technician II Per Diem (9278): Equal to or more than 2 years of experience

Job Qualifications

- Current CA Pharmacy Technician license - required
- Ability to float and travel to multiple locations within UCLA Health - required
- Experience compounding chemotherapy using departmental guidelines for cytotoxic agents – required
- Minimum 1 year of IV sterile compounding pharmacy experience – required
- Proficiency in aseptic technique for preparing IV solutions
- Strong ability to perform accurate pharmaceutical calculations
- Ability to work independently and follow through with minimal supervision
- Skilled in computer entry of medication orders and report generation
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other health professionals
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach frequently
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and push 50 lbs
- Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices
