Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Provide statistical data analysis, data management and reporting for biomedical research projects. Perform data management, data quality control, and statistical modeling, working with faculty and staff. Monitor and coordinate computerized data collection for research projects; conduct statistical analyses to monitor and validate data. Develop study databases. Provide statistical analysis and data reporting utilizing statistical software, spreadsheet programs, database management systems and graphing software. Assist the statistical lead in preparing tables, graphs, dashboards and figures summarizing study data. Compile
documentation of completed analyses for reports, presentations and manuscripts.

The employer offers remote work benefit for this position. 

Annual range: $68,799.60 to $141,002.64/year

Job Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree statistics, biostatistics mathematics or a related field. 
  • Two years of experience in job offered or as a statistician, bioinformatics researcher or a related occupational title. Demonstrated experience providing database development, data management and statistical programming for large, multi-center clinical trials. 
  • Experience utilizing statistical software applications including SAS and R. Experience using SQL, including interfacing between SQL queries and statistical programming environments. Experience writing SAS macros for deployment in a collaborative research setting that will result in user-friendly documentation. 
  • Experience working with a clinical database management system including REDCap. Experience in data summarization and visualization including conceptualizing and presenting desired tables and graphs from raw data. 
  • Experience generating automated reports for study team personnel to facilitate resolution. 
  • Experience monitoring study databases for data quality issues. 
  • Demonstrated ability to process unstructured text data using regular expressions. 
  • Experience performing geospatial calculations, including determining driving times and distances using spatially indexed data sets. 
  • Experience working with data from electronic medical records, administrative and registry data, insurance claims data, including Medicaid and Medicare data, and large public survey data including NHANES. Experience implementing comorbidity indices (e.g., Elixhauser) using ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes, and developing modified indices for varied clinical scenarios. 
  • Ability to use oral communication to convey technical information, including technical presentations to technical and non-technical personnel utilizing proper terminologies, grammar and vocabulary. 
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and editing technical written communications including manuscripts, grant applications, technical presentations, and protocols for spelling, punctuation, and grammar. 
  • Experience working individually and in a group environment with principal investigators, researchers and staff at various levels of the organization. Experience utilizing standard business software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
