Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Come join our Venice Family Clinic team as a Registered Nurse (Clinical Nurse II). Under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, the RN will:

  • Provide direct nursing services to patients (adults and children) in our free, community-based primary health care clinic(s) in Los Angeles County.
  • Prepare patients for medical examination including taking medical history, performing health screening tests, lab tests, giving injections and emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Provide health education and health assessments. 
  • Triage medical problems, assist with dispensing of medications, and provide nursing consultation.
  • Help oversee the medical assistants, volunteer student RN’s, CMA’s, medical students and clinic assistants.
  • Participate in meetings, projects, quality assurance activities, and other duties as needed.
  • Float to our other sites in LA County as needed and help with coverage. 
  • Complete other duties as assigned within legal scope of practice. 


Salary range: $62.43 - $92.81 Hourly


Job Qualifications

Required:
  • BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing (ASN required for current UCLA Health RN staff).
  • Current, active California Registered Nurse License.
  • BLS certificate from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Minimum of 6-months of RN work experience post licensure. 
  • Demonstrated skill in delivery of patient care, and outpatient and primary nursing skills.
  • Ability to perform historical, physical and behavioral status assessments.
  • Ability to work as a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Skill in developing a plan of care including setting goals, monitoring and documenting progress.
  • Working knowledge of child abuse reporting laws.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to our other locations in LA County as needed.
