Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Rape Treatment Center is an internationally recognized, model program that provides free, comprehensive medical, psychological and legal services for victims of sexual assault and child sexual abuse, together with extensive outreach and prevention education programs. Our Office Manager plays an important part in helping us bring wholeness and healing to survivors of sexual assault and abuse.


Under the direction of the Rape Treatment Center (RTC) Senior Director, the Project Policy Analyst:

  • Provides consultation to the RTC Director and professional staff regarding compliance with confidentiality, privilege, and reporting laws.
  • Manages the production of documents in response to record requests.
  • Develops and provides ongoing training to staff.
  • Maintains awareness of pending and newly enacted legislation related to sexual assault/abuse; researches and analyzes issues related to sexual assault/abuse (legal, ethical, clinical).
  • Assists with the development of programs, policies, and procedures. 
  • Participates in committees and working groups as assigned. 

Salary range: $40.13 - $85.92 Hourly


Job Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written proficiency in the English language; ability to write clear and well-organized memoranda, reports, proposals, policies, protocols, and patient education materials.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and able to problem solve while remaining calm and objective during crises.
  • Knowledgeable about medical, legal, social, and public policy issues related to sexual assault victimization and child sexual abuse.
  • Knowledge of laws and ethics related to confidentiality of patient information and informed consent.
  • Knowledge of psychotherapist-patient privilege law and other privileges potentially applicable to victims of sexual assault. 
  • Knowledge of laws concerning legal requirements for reporting suspected assaultive/abusive conduct (child, elder, dependent). 
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with traumatized clients, their significant others, and the lay and professional public around issues related to sexual assault and child sexual abuse.
  • Ability to incorporate the vision, values and mission of Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center in the development of programs.

Preferred:
  • Advanced degree or Juris Doctorate.
  • Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and of civil and criminal justice systems pertaining to sexual assault survivors. 
  • Knowledge of laws relating to sexual assault forensic examination and laws concerning various medical record requests/subpoenas for hospital records.


As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts a conditional offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; received notice of any allegations or are currently the subject of any administrative or disciplinary proceedings involving misconduct; have left a position after receiving notice of allegations or while under investigation in an administrative or disciplinary proceeding involving misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of misconduct with a previous employer.
