Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Practice Manager plays a vital role in supporting both business operations and patient care within an assigned practice. This position is ideal for a dynamic leader who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and enjoys making a meaningful impact on day-to-day operations.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Practice Manager is also responsible for assigning staff coverage across the UCLA Health System, ensuring JCAHO compliance, and handling matters for float pool staff. In this role, you'll oversee administrative and budgetary functions, coordinate ambulatory clinical services and float staff, and help enforce policies to encourage a safe and coordinative environment. 

Salary range: $83,800.00/year - $179,400.00/year

Job Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to write analytical and administrative reports and correspondence, which are clear, concise, logical and appropriate for a variety of audiences
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of research-oriented patient care systems
  • Working knowledge of University policies and procedures to appropriately manage  risk management and personnel
  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in work production
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent tasks and changing priorities
  • Minimum 1 year managerial experience
  • Work with Ambulatory Nursing, Safety, Security, Skills Management Team, HR, and others on training all employees on necessary skills for role
  • Demonstrate the ability to be flexible, adaptable, accessible, and team-oriented.
  • Systematic way to optimize efficiency and minimize duplication effort
  • Writing skills to prepare accurate and concise reports and memorandums that clearly convey information utilizing appropriate vocabulary and grammar
