Primary Duties and Responsibilities

We’re looking for a welcoming, detail-oriented administrative assistant to help ensure a smooth experience for the patients at the Cornea & Uveitis clinic. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love helping people this is the perfect role for you. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Greet and check in patients with warmth and professionalism
  • Answer phones, respond to patient messages, and assist with patient inquiries
  • Schedule appointments
  • Collect copays and patient payments at check-in and check-out
  • Manage insurance verifications
  • Provide support with basic clerical tasks

Salary Range: $25.60-36.33

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • One year experience working in a medical office including scheduling patient appointments, answering telephones, interacting with patients and familiarity with current billing practices including governmental plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills which promote pleasant and effective communications with patients, staff and doctors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible personality and ability to adapt to changing needs of department
  • Ability to interact calmly and effectively with patients with difficult personalities 

Preferred:

  • Experience registering patients in UCLA Encounter Registration system, working in a teaching environment
  • Experience working in an Ophthalmology practice
