Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As a Principal Food Service Worker, you will play a vital role in assembling, delivering, and serving meals to patients while maintaining a clean and safe environment. Your responsibilities include accurately assembling meal trays in a fast-paced setting and ensuring they are presentable. You will assist patients with menu selections, distribute menus based on dietary requirements, and collect trays after each meal, delivering food carts to designated areas. Additionally, you will prepare and deliver snacks to patients as needed. Maintaining proper sanitation practices in food handling and equipment usage is essential, as is performing tasks in the dish room, pot room, and housekeeping to uphold cleanliness and safety standards.

Salary Range: $20.05-24.42/hr.

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in food service, including tray assembly, meal service, or general food service duties.

  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English to accurately match food items with menu selections.

  • Effective teamwork skills, particularly in a fast-paced tray assembly line environment.

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations without the use of a calculator.

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of various dietary requirements.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with co-workers, medical staff, patients, supervisors, and management.

  • Ability to adhere to departmental dress code standards.

  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and repeatedly stretch, bend, push, walk, lift, and reach.

  • Ability to lift and push heavy food carts.

  • Willingness to attend departmental training sessions as required.
