Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 The UCLA Center for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases is currently seeking a compassionate, team-oriented and highly motivated full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team.

The NP will perform the following functions:

Provides direct follow-up care for IBD patients requiring medication monitoring Provides direct follow-up care for patients requiring urgent follow-up visits

Provides education to patients and families regarding IBD health maintenance and medication adherence Responds to phone calls and helps answer patient questions

Helps communicate tests results to patients

Assists with IBD clinical trials including: Screening of patients and H & P visits and data entry. Communicates with referring physicians and helps coordinate care between disciplines Assists with ordering and renewal of biologic medications

Salary range:

NP2 : $89.06-$127.19/hourly


Job Qualifications

  • CA RN and CA NP license-required 
  • MSN in FNP, Adult-Gero Primary Care or Adult-Gero Acute Care NP specialty- required
  • NPI#, DEA#, Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment on CURES- required
  • National Board Certification in NP Specialty- required 
  • BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association- required 
  • 2 years of relevant GI exp in NP role-required
  • Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs
  •  Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel
  • Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction
  • Ability to set priorities  
  • Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence
  •  Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner
  •  Is well-organized; can manage complex patients; previous gastroenterology experience - preferred
