Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of OBGYN is seeking to hire a Medical Student Coordinator to be responsible for coordinating fourth-year medical student electives, undergraduate clinical / research opportunities, and other undergraduate medical education initiatives based in the department.

In this role you will support, develop, initiate and / or direct a wide range of programmatic activities including but not limited to:

  • Long- and short-term curricular planning
  • Project management
  • Coordinating course orientation activities
  • Policy oversight
  • Effective communication with faculty, learners, and university staff
  • Internal and external course relations. 
Supports learners in areas such as curriculum, teaching and learning activities, scheduling, assessment, and evaluations.

Pay Range: $33.81 - $51.24 hourly. 

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years' experience coordinating an educational program(s) in an academic medical center or other relevant experience
  • Proficient with or ability to quickly learn Microsoft Office programs, and dean’s office database management programs and web-based applications.
  • Presents and expresses ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience, whether oral or written. Actively listens to what others are saying to achieve understanding. Shares information with others and facilitates the open exchange of ideas and information.
  • Ability to manage confidential information discreetly and responsibly; ability to follow FERPA regulations
  • Open to change and new information; adapts behavior and wok methods in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles. Acclimates quickly to new situations warranting attention and resolution.
  • Demonstrated commitment to knowledge development/professional development
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgement
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills; strong attention to detail. Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner, and to manage short and competing deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact collegially with faculty, staff, learners, and outside contacts at all levels
Preferred:
  • Comprehensive understanding of LCME accreditation policy
  • Comprehensive understanding of UCLA policy and procedures
