Primary Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking for caring and professional ophthalmic photographer to join the Retina Division at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute in Westwood. Major duties will be within the Retina Division Medical Photography Department which include providing ophthalmic imaging services for patients who are referred from internal and external providers, including patients who are enrolled in research studies. Imaging entails the use of specialized equipment, including, but not limited to, OCTs, ocular fundus photography, fluorescein and/or Indocyanine Green angiography (both digital and film), and external photography.  Obtaining and maintain imaging certification for research studies will also be required.


Salary Range: $35.67-42.95 Hourly

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Knowledge of general ocular anatomy, basic external ocular pathologies, and external eye muscle patterns
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology anatomy, physiology as well as disease of the eye and systemic disease that affect the eye
  • Skill in photographing strabismus series
  • Knowledge of basic retinal pathology entities and anatomic relationship on retina
  • Skill in patient care pertaining to photography
  • Skill in operating Zeiss fundus camera
  • Skill in operating Optos fundus camera
  • Skill in operating Heidelberg fundus camera (HRA2) and Spectralis
  • Knowledge of fluorescein angiography principles
  • Knowledge of digital cameras
  • Communication skills which promote pleasant and effective communication with patients, staff and doctors.
  • Ability to learn state of the art diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize duties to maximize efficiency.
  • Ability to work under pressure over a busy workload.
  • Have interpersonal skills to maintain comfortable and cooperative working  relationships with physicians, patients and co-workers.
  • Must be able to work with regular, planned hours and days of the week based on the clinical needs of the service with occasional overtime
  • Responsible, with ability to work in a detail-oriented manner
