Primary Duties and Responsibilities

This is temporary (limited) five month role for a Pre Lung Transplant Coordinator.

A limited appointment may convert to career


TC1: Salary range: $82.33- $110.68 (hourly)
TC2: Salary range: $99.20-$118.56 (hourly)

Job Qualifications

1.     TC I:  Current California Registered Nurse license, graduation from an accredited nursing program and and BSN with 5 years of relevant RN experience with a combination of critical care and or transplant experience (required).

2.     TC II: Current California Registered Nurse license, graduation from an accredited nursing program and a Diploma, Associate or B.S. degree with a CCTC and 5 years of relevant RN experience with a combination of critical care and or transplant experience (required).

3.     Prior experience with organ transplant candidate referral process, evaluation workup procedures and UNOS listing. (preferred)

4.     Prior Heart and Lung Transplant on-call experience (preferred)

5.     An ability to case manage all aspects of a transplant patient’s medical care from initial evaluation to post transplant follow-up; apply a broad understanding and knowledge of organ transplantation, including immunology, immunosuppression, rejection and other complications of transplantation, drug toxicity, and graft failure. (preferred)

6.     Ability to communicate effectively with persons of various cultural backgrounds. Good verbal and written communication skills (required)

7.     Ability to interface effectively with patients and their families. (required)

8.     Excellent organizational skills, proficiency in meeting deadlines, ability to work independently and prioritize workload. Ability to manage numerous concurrent tasks in a high stress environment and deal with change. (required)

9.     Ability to effectively coordinate and assess patient care and act as a liaison with nursing staff, outside agencies, team physicians, referring physicians, patients and families. (required)

10.   Ability to teach about transplantation and medical management issues. (Preferred).

11.   Ability to walk/navigate throughout the Medical Center campus, including surrounding buildings. Frequent sitting and standing. Ability to lift packages and patient charts up to 25 pounds for distances to 10 feet. Strong typing skill necessary for large volume data entry into transplant database and Care Connect.  Ability to handle high volume, high stress clinical environment. (required)

BLS Certification from AHA or ARC (required)
