Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will act as a staff person in the ambulatory care setting, assisting in providing total patient care, maintaining high standards of care and recognizing normal and abnormal signs and symptoms of life threatening emergencies. The Licensed Vocational Nurse must be able to follow established University and Departmental work policies, procedures and guidelines.


Salary: $41.37/hr

 

Job Qualifications

Required:

    • Possess active license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with Intravenous Therapy and blood withdrawal certification.
    • Possession of active CPR BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
    • Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures
    • Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed.
    • Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
    • Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life threatening medical problems.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers.
    • Skill to perform CPR.
    • Keyboard literacy skills to access and input data in computerized logging systems
    • Demonstrated ability to be punctual and maintain good attendance
    • Ability to push, pull, or carry a minimum of 30 pounds or more
    • Skill and knowledge to submit quality work in a timely manner
    • Ability to travel to various Hematology/Oncology Community Clinic locations and being physically present at the job site.
    • Ability to work various days/shifts; days and hours may vary depending on assignments.
