Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In this critical role, you will lead the coordination and procurement of insurance authorizations supporting the full continuum of care for stem cell transplant and cellular therapy patients. This includes evaluation and diagnostic testing, stem cell collection, high-cost cellular therapy infusions, and inpatient admissions, ensuring timely access to life-saving treatments.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and secure insurance authorizations for highly specialized therapies, including hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and immune effector cell therapies such as CAR-T
  • Partner closely with Transplant Nurse Coordinators, Financial Clearance Counselors, and Cell Therapy leadership to proactively identify and resolve barriers to care
  • Collaborate with external payers to expedite approvals for urgent and complex treatments, minimizing delays in the patient care journey
  • Review patient insurance benefits and eligibility, ensuring accurate interpretation of payer policies and coverage requirements
  • Submit prior authorization requests and compile comprehensive clinical documentation to support medical necessity
  • Serve as a primary liaison with insurance providers to facilitate approvals across all phases of cellular therapy, including evaluation, collection, processing, and infusion
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination of care
Salary Range: $30.36-$43.49/hourly

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Excellent critical thinking and prioritization skills

Preferred:

  • Previous experience submitting referrals and obtaining insurance authorizations for hematology-oncology patients
  • Previous experience working w EMR, Epic or CareConnect
