Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a senior scientist and/or the Principal Investigator, this position supports research activities within the Pancreatic Research Group by performing a range of cell biological and biochemical assays. Responsibilities include techniques such as Western blotting, real time PCR, enzymatic assays, cell isolation, immunohistology, and mouse genotyping. This role offers hands on experience in a collaborative research environment focused on advancing pancreatic disease research.

Salary: $25.75 - $30.17/hour


Job Qualifications

Required: 

  • High school and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent skills in isolation of functionally active pancreatic acinar cells
  • Excellent skills in cerulein model of pancreatitis and tissue collection
  • Excellent skills in ELISA and spectrofluorometer and spectrophotometer operations
  • Excellent skills in biochemistry and molecular biology procedures including immunoblot, mRNA isolations, and real time PCR procedures
  • Excellent skills in breeding colonies and mice genotyping
  • Excellent skills in immunohistology procedure and microscope operation
  • Excellent skills in computer and software operations
