Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Neurology is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II with an interest in neurological rehabilitation and research. Primary functions involve assisting with daily lab operations. Major duties include multi-site coordination/communication; staff credentialing; data collection and entry; equipment set-up and transport; ordering supplies and equipment; and special projects and duties as assigned. You may be required to conduct home visits and deliver equipment to assist existing staff with various tasks, as needed.

Please note, this is a part-time 12-month limited position and may convert to career.

Salary Range: $26.23 - $30.93/Hourly

Job Qualifications

 

Required:

  • Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact, communicate, and work as a team member with the academic, research and administrative staff, students, and database and information systems personnel
  • Ability to safely perform repetitive bending, stooping, sitting, squatting, walking, standing, and reaching during 8-10 hr. day.
  • Experience volunteering or working with patients with neurological disorders.
  • Experience working or volunteering in a research lab.
  • Knowledge and experience using image analysis software programs.
  • Demonstrated experience with data management and recording.


Preferred:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Experience in the quality control of MRI data.
  • Knowledge of neuroanatomy and neuroscience.
