Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Semel Institute is seeking a Staff Research Associate I to provide laboratory and clinical research support for ongoing studies. Primary responsibilities include entering and maintaining research data, assisting with participant recruitment, conducting study screening interviews in person and/or remotely via phone or Zoom, and supporting the informed consent process for study participants. The incumbent will also assist participants with completion of questionnaires and assessments, conduct structured diagnostic interviews under supervision, and support study coordination activities.

Additional duties include assisting with IRB submissions, manuscript preparation, data cleaning and analysis, and coordinating online manuscript submissions. The selected candidate will work closely with the research team to support day-to-day study operations and ensure accurate and timely completion of research activities.

Hourly range: $28.69-$34.21

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to coordinate data collection and data entry for research studies.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and congenially with all staff, faculty, students, patients and the public at all times.
  • Ability to schedule patient and administrative appointments accurately.
  • Skill at prioritizing assignments and ability to work concurrently on several projects.
  • Ability to function effectively with several interruptions.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks with minimal direction
  • High level ability in the use of a PC using all Windows applications.
  • Ability to enter data and manage research data base.
  • Ability in the use of SPSS.
  • Skill in maintaining organized filing systems.
  • Skill in editing reports, correspondence, manuals, etc., for grammar and punctuation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in the strictest sense.
  • Skill in maintaining accurate timekeeping.
  • Familiarity with child and adolescent psychiatric disorders.
  • BA preferred
