Primary Duties and Responsibilities

This is an amazing opportunity for an Adult Neurology NP to be part of the UCLA NeuroOncology

The NeuroOncology Program at UCLA aims to improve the lives of patients with brain tumors by developing new therapies and providing expert clinical care. This is accomplished through basic science in neuroscience, genetics, immunology, highly advanced neuroimaging, novel therapeutic trials and a full spectrum of clinical care from inpatient to unique outpatient programs. NeuroOncology patients are seen by dedicated specialists with decades of combined experience and/or fellowship training in the diagnosis and treatment of this difficult disease. UCLA is a designated NeuroOncology Comprehensive Care Center.

The NP will see patients under broad supervision of physician, addressing medical issues, monitor MyChart and other messages for triage and management, segway with neuro clinic on administration and authorization, oversight of IV infusion treatment order placements, refill prescriptions and triage with physician if and when dose changes are needed. 

Salary range: $89.06 -$127.19/hourly

Job Qualifications

 

CPR: BLS -required

CA RN License and CA Nurse Practitioner License- required

State of CA NP Furnishing with Schedule II, National Board Certification in NP Specialty (i.e. ANCC)-required

Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Nursing-required

Additional: NPI #, DEA #, Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment in CURES-required

Previous NP experience -required

Neurology or Oncology experience -required

Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs-required

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative,

clinical and academic personnel-required

 Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction-required

Ability to set priorities-required

Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence-required

Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner-required
