Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will process new hires for Faculty, Post Doc, Research, Project Scientists and Residents discuss benefits, retirement, pay dates, vacation policy. You will also process separations to include processing of termination paper work, collecting final vacation balances for payment and explain to the employee when to expect final payments. Process entries to correct Health Sciences Compensation Plan salary payments review payroll ledgers to ensure entries were processed correctly. Review all Post Doctoral data to ensure all information for employment is correct, period of employment and salary rate is within the union guidelines. Review requests for fund changes and employment updates for other academic employees and Residents. Assist with processing quarterly Z payments for approximately700 faculty members and oncall payments for approximately 80 faculty and Residents. Respond to division managers questions on personnel and payroll questions.

Hourly salary range: $31.51 - $62.64. The departments target salary range is $31.51 - $47.08.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training  
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to apply / interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR.
  • Knowledge of organization, college and departmental formal and informal policies and procedures and understanding of variances to stated policies
  • Knowledge of human resources management systems and other related business software programs and systems
  • Knowledge of unit academic culture and educational goals of discipline(s) served
  • Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations to Chairs / unit management
