Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Under general supervision, this position provides administrative and logistical support for the COSMOS Summer Program. Responsibilities include creating recruitment materials, supporting social media updates and events, processing student transcripts and files in the COSMOS online database, and assisting with mailings, program handbooks, and other materials. The incumbent arranges meetings, luncheons, and special events; monitors program equipment and supply inventory; and maintains spreadsheets tracking students from application through program completion.

The role also supports hiring and training of residential life student workers and assists faculty and staff with daily program operations. During the summer session, the incumbent helps ensure smooth office operations, communicates frequently with parents regarding student matters, supports field trip logistics and student activities, and collaborates closely with faculty, staff, and campus partners. Evening/weekend work and overtime may be required during the program period.

Salary: $26.42 - $37.49 hourly

*This is a one month limited position that may convert to career

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Experience working with students in an advising or instructional role, preferably in an academic setting.
  • Excellent customer service, advising or reception experience sufficient to provide clear, accurate information and instructions
  • Experience working with diverse populations. 
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Access as well as email applications and internet browsers. Proficient in computer applications such as Google Docs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong, demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner, both orally and written, with individuals at various levels.
  • Ability to initiate and follow-through on multiple assignments, prioritize workload to meet deadlines, and work with frequent interruptions under constantly changing priorities in a fast-paced operation while exhibiting attention to detail and high degree of accuracy at all times.
