Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Join our dynamic team! We’re looking for an organized, proactive, and patient-centered Surgery Coordinator to play a key role in delivering exceptional care to our ophthalmology patients. In this fast-paced role, you’ll be the go-to person for coordinating all aspects of surgery across multiple specialties. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and schedule patient surgeries, including pre-op and post-op visits
  • Manage insurance verifications and pre-authorizations
  • Coordinate financial and medical clearance
  • Provide patient education and instructions
  • Provide back-up support for the front desk


Salary Range: $29.42-42.14

Job Qualifications

Required: 

  • At least 4 years’ experience working in a medical office.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with insurance coding, including Medical CCS billing/authorization guidelines.
  • Experience scheduling patient appointments in computerized appointment scheduling system.
  • Strong insurance verification and pre-registration background.
  • Working knowledge of basic medical terminology and diseases, as it applies to the eye.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and interaction skills with patients, physicians and fellow staff members
  • Demonstrate professional and effective work skills to handle all responsibilities within a fast-paced, high pressure setting
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate clinical operations as needed.
  • Sufficient computer keyboard skills to perform appointment scheduling, encountering, emailing, and other related computer tasks.
