Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse Educator inspires and empowers nurses by assuming responsibility and accountability for conducting Nursing Orientation, Skills Lab, and for Annual Competencies and Skills. In addition assists in other Administrative Duties as assigned by the Department Director/CNS. The position is a combination of clinical and administrative responsibilities.

Job Qualifications

  • CA RN license
  • BSN or MSN required
  • BLS from AHA or ARC
  • Ambulatory certification preferred
  • Ambulatory clinic Minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Clinical Educator minimum of 3 years preferred.
  • Ability to assess learning styles
  • Skill in developing educational material for orientation and skills.
  • Ability to recognize the need to reassess education needs
  • Ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other computer programs
  • Ability to understand oral and written directions
  • Ability to read and write Standard English
  • Ability to communicate (orally, written) clearly and concisely
  • Ability to apply adult learning theories and strategies
