Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the unit director and the AN II the incumbent will provide immediate supervision to the Surgery Center anesthesia technicians and OR support staff. The incumbent will develop and coordinate the schedule to meet staffing levels and policy and ensure that work is performed in compliance with stablished procedures. Ensures routine maintenance and safety checks of equipment, cleaning and disinfecting of equipment after use. 

The incumbent will also train staff on new procedures, recommends action plans for performance improvement based on staff feedback, communicates and collaborates with intra-department supervisors and managers to provide input and recommendations on new processes and workflow. The staff member will also oversee the stocking and preparing anesthesia and/or operating room equipment and supplies.

Salary range: $34.24-$74.19 Hourly

Qualifications

We’re seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated nursing professional with: 

  • Certification from American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an anesthesia tech preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training preferred.
  • Solid subject matter knowledge to train and guide employees on anesthesia care and / or equipment techniques.
  • Skills in employee supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex and challenging environment.
  • Solid customer service skills to resolve escalated issues in an effective manner.
  • Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with others throughout the organization.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills to explain technical anesthesia concepts, actively listen, persuade, advise and counsel.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office functions.
