The primary purpose of this year is to complete all requirements of the home University in order to be eligible for graduation. Specifically, the purpose of the 4th year is to hone clinical Audiology skills across the scope-of-practice available in the Audiology Clinic at UCLA, grow in knowledge of the diagnostic and treatment process for patients of all ages, participate in multi-disciplinary learning, and to be exposed to a variety of styles and experiences among the UCLA Senior Audiology staff. The 4th year extern is a student, and as such, does not provide services without oversight.

Under the supervision and with mentorship, the student will: assist in patient care, provide age-appropriate audiologic assessment and interventions in order to meet the needs of patients, administer and interpret full range of audiological tests, perform Audiological Rehabilitation Consultation, and provide appropriate education and follow-up for patients.
