Primary Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, calibration, and servicing of a wide range of medical and patient care equipment, including life-support devices. You’ll troubleshoot equipment down to the component level, perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections, and conduct initial acceptance testing for new equipment.

You’ll also provide technical support to nursing staff and equipment users to ensure safe and effective operation. This role may include supporting equipment in critical care environments, along with other related duties as needed.


Salary Range: $46.47-61.31/hr

 

 

 

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a BMET I or 5+ years of biomedical equipment experience
  • AAMI certification preferred
  • Proficiency in the use and operation of electronic test equipment, including electrical safety analyzers (analog and digital), voltmeters, function generators, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and pressure/vacuum gauges
  • Experience using medical equipment testing devices such as ECG simulators, respiration and temperature simulators, and ventilator calibration analyzers
  • Strong technical skills, including use of hand tools and soldering/desoldering techniques
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze electrical schematics, block diagrams, and test procedures for a wide range of medical equipment
  • Knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuitry
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently
  • Ability to complete clear and accurate technical reports and documentation
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology
  • Proficiency with computers to manage work orders and complete technical documentation
  • Strong verbal communication skills with clinical staff, hospital personnel, and vendors
  • Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships across departments
  • Experience conducting incident evaluations on medical devices involved in safety events
