Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Semel Institute is seeking to hire a part-time Board Certified Behavior Analyst to join the KidsConnect Autism Treatment Program for our Neuropsychiatric Hospital. You will work with patients of all ages with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disorders, Intellectual Disorders, and other illnesses that would benefit from behavioral interventions. Primary duties include:

  • Perform detailed assessments
  • Treatment planning
  • Teaching/behavioral modification
  • Educating and training families and caregivers regarding individualized behavioral treatment plans and strategies
  • Providing individual meetings and/or education groups for generalization and application of treatment to the home, school, and other environments
  • Facilitate transition of care to community resources

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or other behavioral health field

Advanced degree in behavioral health field (preferred)

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Certification

Minimum 2 years of experience working with autistic children and adults

Skill in assessing patients using individual social and behavioral assessments

Skill in speaking clearly and distinctly using appropriate vocabulary to obtain and convey information

Skill in writing case reports, such as brief patient progress notes, comprehensive case reports and program plans

Knowledge of educational and psychological characteristics of children with behavioral disorders and issues

Knowledge of major professional practices and issues in the field of autism

Skill in motivating others in a classroom teaching team
