Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Play a key role with a world-class health system. UCLA Health runs and operates over 200 outpatient clinics located in Southern California with over 3,000,000 outpatient encounters annually. As the Capacity Management Director you will work under the direction of the Senior Director of Patient Access, the Patient Access Organization (PAO) Capacity Management Director serves in a leadership role to oversee the design, monitoring and maintenance of ambulatory capacity management functions across the clinical enterprise. 

This PAO Capacity Management Director will oversee the efficient utilization of resources and optimize patient flow in our ambulatory healthcare facilities. This leader ensures a patient centered access approach to services are delivered smoothly, efficiently, and timely. The Capacity Management Director collaborates with executive leadership, clinical and operational leadership and managers, as well as physicians to identify and proactively mitigate issues which create barriers to ambulatory access and patient flow. Overall, this leader will work on strategic initiatives on behalf of the PAO to achieve organizational targets. This leader creates and maintains a goal-oriented climate of cross-team collaboration for effective problem solving, conflict resolution, support for organizational values and standard work. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic planning, data analysis, and process improvement to ensure the highest quality of care while maximizing operational efficiency.

This position is on a fixed hybrid schedule that will have set days in the office to be determined by Sr Director of the PAO.

Salary range: $105,200 to $250,600

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

·       Certification in at least one Epic Application or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of hire 

·       Minimum of ten (10) years of health care management experience

·       Experience with business applications management (e.g., Epic, Salesforce)

·       Strong understanding and demonstrated use of Epic Template Management and Cadence Configuration 

·       Previous experience in physician group practice and ancillary scheduling workflows 

·       Previous experience in information technology logistics, or business process flow

·       Demonstrated ability to build consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders.

·       Experience and comfort in delivering presentations to senior leadership.  

·       Broad and comprehensive knowledge of patient access workflow and policies and the ability to incorporate national best practices in complex and/or unprecedented situations across multiple functional areas.

·       Provide experience and strong understanding of information technology specific to patient access workflows; understanding of access-related system configuration, upholding change control practices, and leveraging technology to promote standard workflow.

·       MUST LIVE IN CALIFORNIA OR BE ABLE TO RELOCATE

Preferred

·       Master’s Degree in relevant field

·       Lean six sigma certification

·       Clinic training and experience
