Primary Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Central Service Technician I to support the critical supply needs of our Medical Center and Ambulatory clinics. In this role, you will ensure clinical staff have the necessary procedural supplies to provide exceptional patient care.

Key responsibilities include managing and distributing medical supplies, updating inventory levels and par settings in supply management software, and placing replenishment orders. You will also reconcile deliveries, transport supplies across facilities (including community clinics), and assist with inventory optimization to reduce costs. Additionally, you will assemble custom supply packs, maintain accurate billing records, and provide essential support for back-ordered and on-order items.

This role is vital to ensuring operational efficiency and delivering seamless support to UCLA Health's world-class clinical teams.

 
Salary Range: $22.64 -$27.08/hourly

Job Qualifications

Required:
 
  • Ability to push and pull up to 150 pounds, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to comply with healthcare regulations for infection control, including masking.
  • Self-starter with effective time management and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work as a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to changes in workload, assignments, and schedules across different shifts and weekends.
  • Organized to stay current in required HR online competency classes on policy and safety between tasks. 
  • Consistently maintain a safe, clean working environment and report unsafe acts or conditions.
  • A high proficiency in English to articulate issues, concerns, and responses verbally and electronically.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with clinical interruptions for supply requests.
  • Actively participates in Quality Management and PIE programs.; adheres to Materials Management and UCLA policies/procedures. 
  • Ability to attend all workshops, classes, drills, etc as requested.
  • CA Driver's License.

 

Preferred:

  • Previous hospital, purchasing, accounting, inventory stocking / tracking experience.
  • Experience with electronic ordering using a handheld.
  • Experience managing orders and optimizing inventory pars with Lawson, WaveMark or any ERP.
