The Charge Nurse is responsible for assisting with clinical management and administrative coordination of the procedural and/or surgical unit. The position is a combination of clinical (direct care) and administrative responsibilities. Major functions include, but are not limited to: in-service and training, clinical competence assessment, coaching, mentoring, and collaborating with the unit manager to develop and implement policy and procedure. The incumbent is responsible for supervising and leading a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals in a combined GI/MPU and ASC (Ambulatory Surgery Center) unit. They ensure compliance with UCLA Health policies and procedures, as well as regulatory guidelines. Knowledge of sterile processing/scope reprocessing standards to meet regulatory requirements is required.
Full Salary Range: 67.06-97.43

Minimum Experience
- Minimum 4 years of recent OR Circulator experience in a hospital or ambulatory operating room, required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Perioperative Charge RN experience, required
- Surgical Scrub experience, preferred
- Experience circulating and/or scrubbing the following service lines preferred: General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT, OB/GYN, Interventional Pain, or Podiatry, preferred
- Experience with administration of moderate sedation, preferred
- Experience with circulating and/or scrubbing Endoscopic GI procedures, preferred
- Experience in PTU/PACU/MPU, preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS from AHA or American Red Cross, required
- BSN and/or MSN, required
- Current CA RN license, required
