Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Come join our Venice Family Clinic team as a Dental Assistant. Under the guidance and general supervision of the Senior Dentist, you will perform dental assisting for our Venice Family Clinic's dental program at our Colen Dental office on 4700 Inglewood Blvd. in Los Angeles (primary location) and will rotate as needed to our Venice Family Clinic outreach locations. Duties include the coordination of patient flow, and providing dental assistance to dentists and dental hygienists in both clinical and community settings.


Salary range: $23.95 - $31.58 Hourly

Job Qualifications

REQUIRED:
• Certification in radiography to operate dental X-ray equipment and perform dental radiographic procedures from a California Dental Board-approved school.
• A California Dental Board-approved course in the California Dental Practice Act.
• 8 hour board approved in person infection training certification.
• Coronal polishing certification.
• Working knowledge of current dental terminology, materials, equipment, and procedures related to dentistry.
• Good bilingual verbal language skills in both English and Spanish.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Completion of a California Dental Board-approved course in infection control, and working knowledge of principles of asepsis, sterilization procedures, and infection control.
• Ability to organize and maintain an inventory of dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in the dental operatory.
• Ability to handle multiple demands and frequent interruptions and maintain a professional demeanor.
• Working knowledge of four-handed dentistry.
• Ability to work with people of various socio-economic status, and work with infectious disease patients.
• Ability to travel as needed to our other locations in Redondo Beach and Los Angeles for coverage.
• Working knowledge of current dental terminology, materials, equipment, and procedures related to dentistry.
• Working knowledge of principles of asepsis, sterilization procedures, and infection control.
• Ability to organize and maintain an inventory of dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in the dental operatory.
• Organizational skills to set priorities to reflect relative importance of job responsibilities.
• Ability to handle multiple demands and frequent interruptions and maintain a professional demeanor.
• Ability to work with infectious disease patients.
• Skill in understanding both written and oral instructions.
• Ability to take inventory of dental and patient care supplies.
• Working knowledge of four-handed dentistry.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work with people of various socio-economic status.
• Ability to work with volunteers.
• Comply with HIPAA and Confidentiality Policies and Procedures as they apply to the job.
• Must have working knowledge of dental software and Microsoft Office to be able to record patient information for charting and reporting purposes
