Venice Family Clinic is seeking applications for an experienced and dynamic Director of Development to join its leadership team. The Director of Development, Individual and Corporate, will be responsible for the success of the development activities grouped under the umbrella of Individual Philanthropy and Corporate Relations with revenue goals in excess of $6 million. This leadership role will report to our Chief Development Officer and supervise a team of four (4) development officers. The Director will oversee programs including individual major and planned gifts, corporate giving, employee resource groups, corporate matching gifts, and associated corporate partnership opportunities.  The Director will develop an integrated effort to increase private revenue by building the current support base, engaging new donors, and increasing unrestricted revenue from individual and corporate philanthropy. Additional responsibilities include management, strategic planning, and analysis, as well as donor and volunteer development. 

Note this position has a fixed hybrid schedule that requires the person to initially work fully on-site for the first 3-months; afterwards it will require on-site work 2-days per week.

The University of California, Los Angeles is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is $92,600.00 - $202,200.00 Annual.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in annual and major gifts, direct mail, sponsorship and other individual and corporate fundraising programs.
  • Extensive experience personally soliciting and securing five- and six-figure gifts, and managing individual and corporate solicitation programs.
  • Knowledge of gift processing and reporting using Salesforce.
  • Experience supervising development staff in pursuit of revenue goals.
  • Significant experience in recruiting, managing and motivating senior volunteers.
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with staff; ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey information with accuracy, creativity and diplomacy.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in prioritizing assignments to complete projects in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Strong project management skills, planning and ability to manage multiple priorities and think critically in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed, and the ability to travel between sites as needed.
