Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Join a dynamic team supporting the Education Program Office (EPO), serving approximately 1,400 employees and a diverse group of medical trainees, including students, residents, and fellows. As a key member of the Health Professional Education team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of daily activities within the office. You will contribute to a wide variety of tasks, from coordinating recruitment, orientation, and onboarding/offboarding processes to organizing impactful events such as receptions, conferences, Grand Rounds, and the annual year-end celebration.


In this role, you will also collaborate with trainees and faculty to uphold compliance with Medical Education, ABR, and ACGME standards. Your responsibilities will extend to managing training verifications, serving as one of the Department's Parking Coordinators, and supporting technology programs by facilitating access, training, and resolving issues. Additionally, you will contribute to special projects that advance the department’s mission and foster a supportive and efficient environment for medical education.

Job Qualifications

Required:
  • Ability to liaison between the David Geffen School of Medicine UCLA and the Radiological Sciences Department when needed.
  • Excellent written communication skills to accurately compose and edit letters, memos and other correspondence using proper grammar, punctuation, spelling and syntax
  • Skill and knowledge in technology, especially with Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom.
  • Ability to acquire new technical skills and assume responsibility for new tasks.
  • Working knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Demonstrated skill in financial analysis, planning, preparation and administration of a budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, modify, and generate spreadsheets, create formulas, modify formats and run various reports in Excel.
  • Working knowledge of relevant University policies and procedures on health professions education and regulatory requirements, and the ability to process actions required to establish various academic personnel and payroll related transactions in the online UCPath system, I-9 Tracker, BruinBuy, Radiology Purchasing Portal, Travel Express/Concur.
  • Working knowledge of the various benefit programs offered through the University.
  • Ability to utilize appropriate communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with faculty, trainees, students, campus and hospital departments and outside agencies.
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals of various social, cultural, economic or educational backgrounds, using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information, explain policies and procedures, provide information, or resolve conflicts.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience/training
